October 2021

As we race towards the half term holiday, we have been scouring the local area for family-friendly events and entertainment. This time last year there wasn’t much on offer with all the cancellations and restrictions still in force, but the good news is that there is plenty more on offer now!

Blenheim Palace
Between October 22 and 31 Blenheim have an amazing ‘dusk to darkness’ evening trail for adults and children.

Waddesdon
This year Waddesdon are putting on an ‘immersive safari experience’ as well as their traditionally well organised Halloween trails.

Oxford Castle
The already-spooky castle is the setting for a number of ghost tours and potion making events between October 16 and 31.

Waterperry Gardens Spooky Scarecrow Trail
From the 16th to 31st October, the Scarecrow Trail is suitable for young children between 10am and 5pm.

Pick your own pumpkins at Rectory Farm
Choosing your own pumpkin from an endless sea of orange is strangely satisfying, and plenty of establishments joined in the fun.

Head over to Rectory Farm to take your pick.

Halloween at Millets Farm Centre
With an onsite circus over half term as well as more pick your own pumpkins and other events, Millets Farm has a lot on offer.

River and Rowing Museum, Henley
With activities on offer including ‘build your own dragon boat’, and castle building, Henley’s River and Rowing museum has plenty of unusual entertainment on top of their more standard Halloween trails.

Most places are encouraging booking, so click on the activity little to check out their webpages!
