Coronavirus: Hiring a Car or Van

As we prepared to reopen Thame Cars last week we made many changes to our processes in order to look after the health and safety of both our customers and staff.

We have always been driven by our three core values of Safe, Simple and Convenient, and so as we redesigned our systems these were in the front of our minds.

Our hire department in particular has been very busy, driven in part by the number of people now able to move house. Big money can be saved by hiring a van and doing the removals yourself, and our Luton vans with lifts have always been popular for this.

Here are some of the changes we have made to ensure the hire process is Safe, Simple and Convenient.


All of our vehicles are fully sanitised, with all touch points inside and out disinfected. This includes the key, which is then placed ceremoniously in the center of a table for our customer to pick up!


Hiring from Thame Cars has always been a straight forward process, but we’ve made it even simpler. All of the paperwork can now be taken care of over the phone and email, including providing a copy of driving license, proof of address and payment.

This not only makes the whole process simpler, but it also minimises the amount of time you have to spend with us.


All that’s left to do is to visit us, sign the agreement and pick up that ceremonial key. We can even arrange a ‘touch-free’ delivery of the vehicle, if that is more convenient.
