Christmas in Thame 2020

December 2020

If you’ve ventured into Thame this past week you will probably have noticed a few Christmassy flourishes in the town centre.

Festive lights, window displays, the tree… and a huge 10 foot Nutcracker right outside the town hall!

Thame Cars are delighted to be sponsoring this new addition, trying to bring a smile to the faces of shoppers in a year when I think we could do with a little cheering up.

The only problem is we don’t have a name for the Nutcracker, and we need your help to find one!

Thame Town Council are running a number of competitions in the lead up to Christmas, and this is one of them - what should we call him?

If you head over to the Council website you can post your submission to be in with a chance of winning a FREE Service and a chocolate Nutcracker from Rumsey's Handmade Chocolaterie.

While you’re over there check out some of the other competitions as well. Prizes for the competitions have been sponsored by our amazing local businesses such as, ASM Auto Recycling, Wally's Toy Shop, The Book House, Baban Botique, Adroit Services, Fitch & Fellows, Planet Health & Organics, and Bizzie Lizzie's Flower Shop.

Pick up a copy of the Advent Calendar Booklet from the railings around the tree and count how many red trees you can spot in it, then post your answer on the competitions page.

There are a couple of fun Facebook selfie competitions running over on the Christmas In Thame Facebook page, which is worth following just to keep up to speed with all the safely distanced events taking place in and around Thame.

And finally a wonderful window display competition, where dozens of Thame’s amazing independent businesses have decked their windows with boughs of holly, and you can vote for your favourite.

With so many things cancelled this year, it’s great to have so much we can get involved in right here in Thame.

Hop over to the Council website and tell them what you think the giant Nutcracker should be called, and see what else is going on whilst you’re over there.

Here at Thame Cars we have never been prouder to be a part of our town.
